Bali Reopens to International Flights on February 4

TheIndonesia.id - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment as Deputy Chair of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPC PEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said Bali's international entrances will be open from February 4, 2022.

"The government also said that it would reopen international entrances in Bali on February 4, 2022," said Coordinating Minister Pandjaitan in a press statement in Jakarta, Monday, January 31, 2022.

He said Bali's opening was aimed at reaccelerating the Bali economy, which was already affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Bali is open only for non-migrant workers foreign travelers (PPLN). "We will do the opening in stages and gradual," he said.

In addition to quarantine regulations, the opening will also follow the regulations. Currently, Bali provides two additional options for PPLN quarantine, namely bubble quarantine starting at 5 hotels with a total of 447 rooms and six live onboard ships that have been certified for Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Previously, the government had opened Bali for foreign tourists by opening international flights at Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport on October 14, 2021. But in early December 2021, the government closed the entry of international passengers.

This provision is in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 65 of 2021. In this provision, the access was only via air route using flights to three airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Banten Province, Raja Haji Fisabilillah in Riau Islands Province, and Sam Ratulangi in North Sulawesi Province.
