TheIndonesia.id - The installation of solar panels on Bali Mandara toll road is set to begin as Bali prepares to host the G20 Summit.
PT Jasa Marga, which manages the operations of Bali Mandara toll road, has signed an agreement with PT Bukit Energi Investama (PT BEI) to start the installation of solar panels on the toll road that connects the city of Denpasar and South Kuta, Badung Regency, Nusa Dua, and Ngurah Rai International Airport.
“The signing is a follow-up to the previous head of agreement. After data exchange and studies, it’s decided that solar panels will be installed on the motorcycle lane,” operation and maintenance manager at PT Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT) I Putu Gandi Ginantra said on Thursday, February 3, as reported by Antara.
BEI will install a set of solar panels with total maximum capacity of 400 kilowatt-peak (kWp). The energy will be utilized to support JBT’s business and operational.
The project is also part of G20 Summit preparation that will be held in the province later this year. The installation is planned to start in March and finish in early July.
“The solar panels is to complement the preparedness of infrastructures in Bali which will host G20 Summit, so we expect the [project] to run according to plan,” Ginantra said.
The solar panels will be arranged into a one-kilometer-long canopy and will be placed at six points, so there will be six kilometers of motorcycle lane that is equipped with solar panel canopy.
