An Italian and a British detained for robbery in Bali

TheIndonesia.id - Two foreign nationals Nicola Disanto from Italy and Gregory Lee Simpson from England are threatened with12 years imprisonment for a violent theft case at a villa in the Kuta area, Badung, Bali. There are four suspects but two are on a wanted list.

"The two suspects are suspected of carrying out a planned theft at the villa. For their actions the two suspects are subject to Article 365 paragraph (2) 1, 2, 4 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 12 years in prison," said Head of the Badung District Attorney's Office, Imran Yusuf, in a press release received in Badung, Bali, Sunday, March 13, 2022.

The public prosecutor would prepare the dossier for the trial process which took place at the Denpasar District Court. While waiting for the files and trial schedule, the two suspects were detained at the Kuta Police, Badung.

Previously, on Thursday, March 10, the case was handed over from the Denpasar Police to the Badung District Attorney. The evidence seized were four pieces of evidence of ownership of motorized vehicles (BPKB) for Suzuki Jimny, one BPKB of a KTM 1290, one BPKB of a Harley Davidson motorbike, two BPKB of Husqvarna 630, one BPKB of Suzuki Swift, one BPKB of Ford Ranger, one Suzuki Jimny vehicle registration certificate (STNK), IDR 200 million in cash; 10,000 euros; and 3900 Brazilian reals.

This violent theft crime case occurred on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at around 03.00 Bali time at Villa Seminyak Estate and Spa Royal 8, Jalan Nakula Gang Baik Baik, Seminyak, Kuta District, Badung Regency. The two Italian victims Principe Nerini and Camilla Guadagnuolo were asleep and then woke up when they heard an explosion sound.

Then, the two suspects along with two other perpetrators who were on the wanted list (DPO) pointed sharp weapons and took the two victims into custody. Furthermore, the perpetrators took 417,794 US dollars or around Rp. 5.8 billion, 4 laptops, 6 cellphones, cameras, and hard drives, as well as other related evidence.

After the incident, the victims reported the incident to the Kuta Police for further processing.
