TheIndonesia.id - Secretary of Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani said countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand are the most important markets for Indonesian tourism.
"Especially Malaysia and Singapore, which have always been the top contributors to foreign tourists (tourists) to Indonesia," said Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani in an official statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) received in Jakarta, Monday, July 18, 2022.
She explained that in 2019, 2.9 million tourists from Malaysia and 1.9 million tourists from Singapore came to Indonesia. Entering 2021, she continued, travelers from Malaysia ranked first, while Singapore was in the third position after the People's Republic of China.
"This year, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will focus its promotion efforts by collaborating with the main players in the domestic and foreign tourism business including tour agents/tour operators, hotels, as well as airlines in the form of sales missions and integrated cooperation," said the Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
On July 12-15, 2022, Indonesia will hold a Familiarization Trip by inviting six travel agents/ tourist agencies from Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand which will take place in Bali. The agenda, she continued, is an effort to re-promote Indonesian tourism, especially Bali, so that it is expected to increase foreign tourist visits, especially from the three countries.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that the activity was part of the #ItsTimeforBali promotional campaign. "In addition, this activity is also expected to make Indonesia a top of mind for tourists from ASEAN," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.
