TheIndonesia.id - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has set an integration fares package for mass public transportation services, TransJakarta, Mass Rapid Transit, and Light Rail Transit with a maximum limit of one trip of IDR 10,000. These new fares come into effect on the date of enactment, August 8, 2022.
Baswedan issued Governor Decree (Kepgub) Number 733 of 2022 concerning the Amount of Mass Public Transport Service Fare Packages as the legal basis for determining the integration fares which was accessed by Antara in Jakarta, Thursday. Governor determined that the integration fares would apply to the use of Jakarta's TransJakarta, MRT, and/or LRT services. The method of payment for the mass public transport service fare package is using electronic money.
In the attachment to the Governor's Decree, it is explained that the type of fare set is a combination fare, namely fares based on distance and travel time. The initial fare is set at IDR 2,500 (or USD 0.17) with a tariff of IDR 250 (or USD 0.017) per kilometer.
The maximum fare ceiling is IDR 10,000 (or USD 0.67) with a travel time limit of 180 minutes or three hours. The combined fare scheme, namely an initial fee of IDR 2,500 is charged to passengers when they scan (tap in) at the bus stop/ station/ feeder public transport service. Then, after the passenger pays the initial fee, the next trip fare paid by the passenger is based on the distance traveled, which is IDR 250 per kilometer.
The maximum amount of one-way fare in this combination is IDR 10,000 provided that the passenger does not leave the mass public transportation system since the first time he scans (taps) the electronic money card at the bus stop/station/feeder service machine. If in one trip the passenger spends more than 180 minutes of travel time, then apart from the maximum number of fares, the next trip fare package will be calculated.
The tariff package was born to support an integrated mass public transportation system. The decision on the integration tariff was decided after the Jakarta's House of Representatives gave a recommendation on June 27, 2022.
