TheIndonesia.id - Google introduced a new feature for Android 13 that will make it easier for users to switch between different audio devices when listening to music.
Announced at CES 2023, the media notification will ask the users if they want to switch to a different listening device based on their proximity, allowing them seamlessly transit between the phone, speakers, headphones, TV, and car.
This feature uses a cross-device software development kit (SDK), released by Google last year, reported by The Verge page.
This technology uses Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and ultra-wideband to detect which audio devices are physically near the user.
Then, the program will identify which devices might be used by the users based on their current activity.
For example, switching audio playback from the Bluetooth speaker back to the phone if the user answers a call.
The "uninterrupted listening" feature shares similarities with Apple products in how the system can automatically switch between different audio inputs.
Google is also working with Spotify to bring Spotify Connect support to the Android 13 media switcher. This will allow users to more easily switch between playing music on their Android phone and Spotify Connect compatible speakers, TVs, and other devices.
Google hasn't announced a release date for either of the two new listening features, only they're expected to arrive sometime "this year."
