TheIndonesia.id - Sweat dripping from your body is a common thing, especially after doing tiring activities. However, an excessive amount of sweat could be annoying, making you uncomfortable and lowering your self-confidence.

Excessive amounts of sweat can be caused by many things, such as diseases and medical conditions. When your body temperature increases,  your skin produces sweat to cool the body. This is a natural body mechanism that's happening when you are in sports, fever, or nervousness.

However, you need to be vigilant if the sweat coming out from your body gets heavier for no reason. Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis can be a symptom of an illness. Therefore, it is important to understand what causes you to sweat easily.

Here are several common causes of excessive sweating.

Thyroid Disorders

The thyroid gland is a skin cell that produces sweat, and a problem with the thyroid gland could cause you to sweat easily. Hormonal imbalances in the body make the heart beat faster than usual, making your palms sweaty and moist. Weight loss or increased blood pressure can also be a sign that you have thyroid problems.

Obesity

People who are overweight usually sweat easily because obesity makes it easier for a person to feel hot, causing excessive sweating.

Consumption of Food & Medicine

Eating certain foods can produce excessive sweating, such as spicy foods, and foods containing caffeine. Excessive sweating will also appear when you take diet drugs that increase calorie use.

Active Exercise

Exercise frequently makes your body get fitter. This fitness affects sweat production. The fitter a person is, the more sweat production will be.

Fever

The body will sweat more easily when you have a fever of 37 degrees Celsius temperature or above. Sweat is the body's response to provide hydration for the organs.

Heredity Factor

Sweat production can also be influenced by genetic factors. If your parents or family are among those who sweat easily, you will most likely sweat excessively too.

Anxious/Nervous

Sweat production can be produced more when you're anxious or nervous because the body's organ production is disrupted. The smell of sweat due to stress feels keener because fat and protein, which are components of sweat, can easily mix with bacteria on the skin.
