TheIndonesia.id - Banten was struck with a 6.7 magnitude earthquake on Friday, January 14, at 4.15 p.m. local time, with tremors felt in nearby cities, including Jakarta, Depok, and Bekasi.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), the epicenter was at 52 km southwest of Sumur subdistrict in Banten and occurred at a depth of 10 km. The Agency also reported no threat of tsunami.
5.7 magnitude aftershock was also reported at 4.49 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
