TheIndonesia.id - GoToko, a joint venture between the GoTo Group and Unilever, has announced that it will expand operations to the Greater Jakarta, after first introduced to the public in 2020.
The end-to-end e-B2B digital platform that connects brands with underserved retailers, or warung, in Indonesia, said it’s confident to compete with its peers with its joint network.
CEO and president director of GoToko Gurnoor Dhillon said since its formation, the company has been able to serve and help developing thousands of warung in Tangerang and South Tangerang, and now it aims to reach more customers in the in Jakarta and its satellite cities.
“The company and shareholders decide to expand our operational reach based on positive feedbacks and high interest from our users,” Dhillon said on Tuesday, February 8, as reported by Suara.com.
He explained that GoToko helps warung owners to efficiently manage their supply with reliable delivery guarantee because warung has been underserved in terms of supply chain distribution.
Warung is part of the small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs), and according to the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME, there are about 3.6 million warung in Indonesia that contribute to up to 80 percent of national retail sales.
However, 2.5 million warung continue to be underserved due to the complex distribution in the country and because brand principals are unable to reach them.
GoTo relies on the implementation of its strategy to reach wider region, supported with collaboration with strategic partners to ensure a reliable service so that warung no longer has to worry about its product supply.
Major brand principals, such as Unilever Indonesia, Danone, Coca Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia, Nestle, Mayora, and Wings are some of GoToko’s partners, and it looks to get more brands to collaborate in the ecosystem.
