TheIndonesia.id - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that there is no need for mandatory PCR swab tests or antigens for domestic and foreign (LN) travelers who have received a complete dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Starting by Wednesday, May 18, 2022, vaccinated travelers do not need a COVID-19 test to enter Indonesia.
"For domestic and foreign travelers who have received a complete dose of vaccination, there is no longer a need to carry out PCR or antigen swab tests," said President Jokowi in an online press statement from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
President conveyed that the easing of the policy was due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia which was getting more under control. The Head of State also decided to allow the public not to use masks if they are doing outdoor activities or in open areas that are not crowded.
"However, for activities in closed spaces and public transportation, masks must still be used," he added.
Meanwhile, for people who are categorized as vulnerable, elderly or have comorbid diseases, the President recommends continuing to use masks when doing activities. "Similarly, for people who have symptoms of cough and cold, they must still wear masks when doing activities," said President Jokowi.
