TheIndonesia.id - The Jakarta provincial government said it will invite 100 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to sell their goods during the Jakarta Formula E event that is set to take place in June.
The industry, trade, cooperatives, and SMEs office in Jakarta said at least 160 small businesses have been invited to join the selection process, and in the end, 100 MSMEs will participate and have the opportunitiy to sell their products during the Jakarta Formula E event.
“We invited 160 best MSMEs to join the curation, and we will choose 100 MSMEs to sell their products,” head of the office Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo said on Sunday, May 22, as reported by Antara.
A team that consists of 10 certified curators has been chosen to select the best products offered by business owners.
Allo also revealed that all 160 MSMEs are part of the Jakpreneur program initiated by Jakarta provincial government.
During the event, all sellers will use the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard, or QRIS, for payment – as the technology can also help business owners to calculate their revenue.
“With QRIS Jakprenenur, we can monitor the development of our MSMEs, both during the event and for the long-term. Therefore, we hopefully can formulate policies based on the needs of these MSMEs,” Allo explained.
Rika, one of the MSME owners that take part in the curation process, said she’s excited to be involved in the event because she will have the opportunity to expand the market for her business.
She is hopeful that her products, chips from fish skin and beef lung, can be selected to participate in the Jakarta Formula E event.
“I’m very pleased to join the curation, and hopefully, I can be selected to sell my products during the Formula E event,” Rika said.
The industry, trade, cooperatives, and SMEs office will facilitate the selected businesses during the event, including preparing a free space for them to serve their customers.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Formula E race is scheduled to take place on June 4 in Ancol, North Jakarta.
