TheIndonesia.id - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has recently met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic where the two figures discussed potential cooperation in several sectors, particularly defense and investment.
According to an Instagram post shared by Pandjaitan, during their meeting in Jakarta, it was agreed that mutual cooperation opportunities between the two countries appear to be promising, especially considering the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina that continues to be conducive after the Bosnian War that lasted from 1992 to 1995.
“After facing a difficult period of war for about three years, I can see that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to develop. And that’s why, today, Dr. Bisera and I discussed investment and trade opportunities between the two countries in defense, agriculture, and other sectors,” the Coordinating Minister wrote on Saturday, June 11, as reported by Antara.
He continued that military partnership was another subject explored by the two state figures.
“As a former military member, I’m excited to hear from [Turkovic] that [Indonesia and Bosnia] are committed to follow up the proposal on strategic industry, especially in military expertise exchange and ammunition production,” Pandjaitan added.
Meanwhile, on investment, he informed Minister Turkovic that investment climate in Indonesia has been improving with many countries showing their interest to put their money in the country.
Lastly, Pandjaitan also revealed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is also committed to maintain close partnership with Indonesia in different sectors, including politic, socio-culture, and economy.
