TheIndonesia.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continued his trip to Ukraine via Poland after attending a series of meetings at the G7 Summit, Elmau, Germany. Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi conveyed this in an online broadcast.
"Furthermore, the President will continue his trip to Ukraine via Poland. In the last few days, I have also carried out intensive communication with several parties in the context of the President's visit to Ukraine and Russia. Of course, we also continue to communicate with Ukraine and Russia itself," she said from Munich, Germany, as shown online by the Presidential Secretariat, Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
Marsudi conveyed that intensive communication has been made such as to the President of the International Red Cross, UN-OCHA (The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), the Turkish Foreign Minister, and the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres in addition to the Ukrainian and Russia sides.
A visit to Ukraine and Russia is scheduled after President Jokowi attended the G7 Summit in Germany on 26-28 June 2022. In Ukraine and Russia, the President is to meet the leaders of their respective countries, namely Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow with an estimated meeting time of 29-30 June 2022.
Before starting his foreign tour on June 26, 2022, the President in a press conference at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, conveyed his mission to Ukraine and Russia is to build dialogue, end war, and build peace. "After Germany, I will visit Ukraine and will meet with President Zelensky, his mission is to invite the President of Ukraine, President Zelensky, to open a space for dialogue in the context of peace," said the Head of State.
The meeting with President Zelensky, the President said, was to encourage the establishment of peace between Ukraine and Russia because they had to stop the war, and the food commodity supply chain had to be reactivated. The president will carry out a similar mission in his meeting with Putin, to open a space for peace dialogue, to push for a ceasefire as soon as possible, and end the war.
After Russia, the President will visit the United Arab Emirates to resume discussions on economic cooperation and investment.
