TheIndonesia.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo joined hundreds of thousands of Muslims at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta for Idul Adha prayer on Sunday, July 10.

As reported by Antara, a number of high level state officials were also part of the mass prayer, including Military Commander Andika Perkasa, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, and others.

The prayer started at 7.00 a.m. local time and was led by imam Salim Ghazali.

For this year’s Idul Adha, the mosque’s management allowed up to 150,000 people to join the congregational prayer.

On the big day in which Muslims across the country sacrifice animals, usually cattle, goats, or sheep, President Jokowi gave a one-tonne cow donation, in addition to donating qurban animals in 34 provinces across Indonesia.
