Inspector General Ferdy Sambo after facing investigators examination

TheIndonesia.id - The head of the Indonesian Forensic Doctors Association (PDFI) team, Ade Firmansyah Sugiharto, revealed that there were two fatal gunshot wounds to Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat or Brigadier J. A total of five shots were fired which resulted in the death of the aide to the former Head of the Profession and Security Division of the National Police, Inspector General of Police, Ferdy Sambo.

"There are two fatal wounds, of course, namely the chest and head," Sugiharto told reporters at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday, August 22, 2022.

Sugiharto said that from the re-autopsy on Brigadier J's body, there were five shots in and four shots out. The number of gunshot wounds is not related to the number of bullets fired, but from the five incoming and four outgoing gunshot wounds, it means that one bullet was lodged in Brigadier J.

"Of the four shots that came out, there was one that was lodged in the spine, near the spine," Sugiharto said.

The Forensic team did not investigate how many shots were fired because it was the investigator's authority, including the type of firearm used, and the direction of the shot. The results of the re-autopsy also confirmed that there were no injuries other than gunshot wounds due to the firearms found in Brigadier J.

The Forensic Medicine team, said Sugiharto, worked independently to examine how the bullets entered the body and how the bullets left the body. The Forensic Team also traced places where based on family information there were signs of violence.

"We have confirmed with the best forensic science that there are no signs of violence other than a firearm on the victim's body," he said.

Sugiharto also confirmed that there were no fingernails of Brigadier J's victims pulled out or bones were broken on Brigadier J's body. The position of the growth organs that moved out of place was part of the autopsy.

"All autopsies must have organs that will be returned to the body, but there must be good considerations, for example, the presence of exposed body parts so that when the body will be transported, such considerations will be made," said Sugiharto.

Then for the injured finger, said Sugiharto, because of the bullet trajectory that hit Brigadier J's body and the wound on the face due to a ricochet or a bullet strike. He hopes that the forensic report that has been submitted to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit can help investigators to shed light on the premeditated murder case against Brigadier J.

"Thank God we were able to finish it in less than four weeks so that we can assist investigators in making this case clear so that investigators do not have doubts about this incident," he said.

In this case, investigators have named five suspects, Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo, Bharada Richard Eliezer, Chief Brigadier Ricky Rizal, Kuat Ma'ruf, and Putri Candrawathi (Ferdy Sambo's wife). The five suspects are vindicated under Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder, which is a subsidiary of Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of death.

In addition, investigators are also investigating cases of obstruction of justice by suspect Ferdy Sambo and five other police officers. The five police other officers are Police Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Police Commissioner Agus Nurpatria, Adjunct Senior Police Commissioner Arif Rahman Arifin, Police Commissioner Baiqui Wibowo, and Police Commissioner Chuck Putranto. The five police officers are threatened with criminal penalties for violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
