Inspector General Ferdy Sambo after facing investigators examination

TheIndonesia.id - The National Police Professional Ethics Commission (KEPP) starts a trial against Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo. This trial also presents several witnesses to explore the role of the former Head of the Police Profession and Security Division in the shooting of Brigadier J at the Duren Tiga Police complex, South Jakarta.

"We will also present several witnesses to explore the role of the Inspector General of Police FS concerning the criminal incident in Duren Tiga," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General of Police Dedi Prasetyo at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday, August 25, 2022.

The witnesses, he said, had arrived at the courtroom for the Police Professional Code of Ethics (KEPP) in the Transnational Crime Center (TNCC) Building at the National Police Headquarters. The witnesses arrived with the suspect Ferdy Sambo at 07.30 Western Indonesia Time.

Dedi then mentioned a number of these witnesses, namely Police Brigadier General H, Police Brigadier General B, Police Grand Commissioner B, Police Grand Commissioner A, and Police Grand Commissioner S. The five witnesses referred to are Police Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, Police Brigadier General Benny Ali, Police Grand Commissioner Budhi Herdi, Police Grand Commissioner Agus Nurpatria, and Police Grand Commissioner Susanto.

"These witnesses will be presented as witnesses as well as investigated by the Police Code of Ethics Commission trial what Inspector General of Police FS has done," said Prasetyo.

The National Police Professional Code of Ethics (KEPP) session was led by Head of the National Police's Security Intelligence Agency (Kabaintelkam) Commissioner General of Police Ahmad Dofiri as chairman, while the members of the commission session were General Supervision Inspector, Head of the Professional and Security Division, and Governor of the Police Science College (PTIK).

In addition, the ethics commission trial was also attended by the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) as the external supervisor of the National Police who will monitor the conduct of the ethics trial. "Kompolnas is present to witness the trial to maintain transparency," said Prasetyo.

The two-star general also said that the verdict of the ethics trial against Ferdy Sambo was planned for today. This is following the Chief of Police's order.

"Yes, it will be determined on the same day. Following the order of the Chief of Police, everything runs in parallel and must be fast," said Prasetyo.

Ferdy Sambo underwent a professional ethics trial for the National Police for alleged criminal offenses related to the premeditated murder of Article 340 of Brigadier J. The trial is scheduled to take place at 09.00 Western Indonesia Time. The trial opening is allowed to be covered by the media. However, when entering the material, it is closed to the public.
