TheIndonesia.id - Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy said it will offer tourism packages in six cities that will host the U-20 World Cup next year.
Minister Sandiaga Uno said his office has prepared packages to woo and entertain football fans that will attend matches in the six cities that have been appointed as hosts for the international sporting event.
“There are six venues, and Bali is surely our top destination. There are also South Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, Jakarta, and Surabaya. We prepare tourism packages in those six host cities,” Uno said on Thursday, September 8, as reported by Antara.
Indonesia has announced six stadiums across the country to host matches in the final round of the tournament. They are Gelora Bung Karno (Jakarta), Jakabaring (Palembang, South Sumatra), Si Jalak Harupat (Bandung, West Java), Manahan (Surakarta, Central Java), Gelora Bung Tomo (Surabaya, East Java), and Kapten I Wayan Dipta (Gianyar, Bali).
Uno added that President Joko Widodo mandated his office to formulate tourism promotions, pre and side events, as well as creative economy products to support the event.
Among the tourist attractions prepared for the event are Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java, Borobudur Temple in Central Java, and ecotourism destinations in West Java.
“Including how we can emphasize on digital marketing approach, so the global event can positively impact our tourism and creative economy recovery,” the Minister revealed.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali has confirmed that the 2023 U-20 World Cup is set to take place from May 20 to June 11.
