TheIndonesia.id - Joint rescue teams continue the search for two gold miners that went missing in a forest in Lebong regency, Bengkulu province—while rains and strong winds interfere with the effort.
The miners reportedly first went missing on September 18, and up until now, search operation is still underway as bad weather continuously affects work done by search personnel.
“Search of the two victims faces obstacles as it has been raining since yesterday afternoon, and as of now, it is already cloudy in the location,” disaster analyst at Lebong Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD) Masayu Uminil Hana said on Friday, October 7, as reported by Antara.
According to her, this morning, three joint teams were deployed to the forest as search effort continues.
Hana also revealed the two miners had told their family members that they were going to the forest prior to their disappearance. However, after 15 days, they have yet to return.
Six family members then headed to the gold mine in the forest but failed to find any signs of two victims.
They then reported the incident to head of village, who the requested for help from BPBD and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).
Y (30) and G (30) were then declared as missing in forest within Sebelat Ulu village, Lebong.
In addition to the two agencies, personnel from the police and military, as well as members of the public, also join the search operation.
