TheIndonesia.id - A movie theater in Purwokerto, Central Java, has been praised by netizens for still using hand-painted posters to promote movies.

Rajawali Cinema understands the value of nostalgia as they opt for the old way of doing things. Instead of digitally printing movie posters to be displayed at the theater, the management does it uniquely by still using hand-painted posters.

Their social media post on Wednesday, December 15, showed Rajawali Cinema promoting the latest Marvel installment Spider-Man: No Way Home by displaying the hand-painted banners in front of their building.

The extraordinary preference has gained them praises from Indonesians who shared that the vintage style incited a nostalgic feeling.

“That’s one cool vintage cinema, and hopefully [the style] will stay,” one person commented, while another one simply responded with a “Respect!” message.

One netizen also complimented the unknown painter of the posters.

Apparently, this isn’t the first time Rajawali Cinema does memorable marketing strategy, as one user revealed that the management used to put movie posters on a car and drove it around town to let people know what movies were playing at the theater.

“When social media wasn’t this popular, there used to be car – going as far as Sokaraja – bringing a board that showed what movies were playing and the schedule, so people didn’t have to go far only to check them out,” the person wrote.
