TheIndonesia.id - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of Indonesia explained that the PeduliLindungi application will be a community service application, not just for COVID-19 tracing purposes. One of the benefits is that residents can access electronic medical records through the application.
"PeduliLindungi will be a public service application, not just for COVID-19," said Expert Staff to the Minister of Health for Health Technology, Setiaji, in a virtual press conference attended from Jakarta, Friday, September 9, 2022.
PeduliLindungi is a public service application considering its already available ecosystem of more than 100 million users. "Instead of developing new systems and applications, of course, we will use the well-known PeduliLindungi and add features," said Setiaji, who also serves as Chief Digital Transformation Office (DTO) of the Ministry of Health.
One of the services that PeduliLindungi will provide is access to electronic medical records and other health services. He said that when other parties such as hospitals want to access electronic medical records from patients, it can be done through the new version of the application.
For people who do not have mobile phones, he ensures that integrated health services including electronic medical records can still be accessed in health care rooms.
Regarding data security, Setiaji said that apart from the Ministry of Health system, protection was also carried out in health service facilities. There will also be outreach and education to the public to ensure the security of access to the electronic medical record service.
"In the future, we will also implement a blockchain system, but we will not implement it yet so that the security becomes even stronger," said Setiaji.
