Quarantine-Free Entry to Bali Trial on March 7, See the Requirements

TheIndonesia.id - The Bali Provincial Government to implement a trial quarantine-free entry for foreign travelers (PPLN) starting Monday, March 7, 2022.

"The implementation of the no-quarantine policy for PPLN only applies through the entrance to Bali with air and sea travel," said Bali Governor Wayan Koster in a written statement in Denpasar, Friday night, March 4, 2022.

The decision to apply PPLN quarantine-free starting March 7 is one of the points of the coordination meeting with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Friday evening. The coordination meeting was also attended by the Minister of Health, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Head of the COVID-19 Task Force/Head of National Agency for Disaster Management.

The Coordinator and members of the COVID-19 Task Force Expert Team, the Governor of Bali, the Bali Police Chief, the Commander of Kodam IX/Udayana and other tourism components were also present. The meeting also decided that the Visa on Arrival (VOA) service for PPLN will also be implemented starting March 7, 2022.

The application of Visa on Arrival (VOA) services for PPLN who come from 23 countries, namely Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines.

The health requirements for PPLN are complete vaccination/ booster, negative PCR Swab test before departure and proof of a hotel reservation payment for a minimum of four days in Bali. Then take the PCR Swab test upon arrival and if the test result is negative, PPLN is allowed to visit all tourist destinations throughout Bali.

"If the test result is positive, the PPLN is required to undergo isolation at the hotel. For the elderly and have comorbidities who are positive immediately hospitalized," said Koster. On the third day PPLN is obliged to take the PCR Swab test and if the test result is negative, on the fourth day they are allowed to travel outside Bali. Every PPLN must have health insurance that guarantees COVID-19.

Following the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, the Governor of Bali stated that he was committed to accelerating the third dose of vaccine or booster with a minimum target of 30 percent.

"In addition, increasing vaccination achievements including booster vaccines for the elderly and ensuring the availability of regular care rooms and adequate ICU care in hospitals," said Koster.

Meanwhile, for elderly people whose PCR swab test results are positive and have comorbidities, they are required to immediately follow treatment at the hospital. Then tighten health protocols and use the PeduliLindungi application in various places.

"Finally, increasing readiness at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport for PPLN arrivals so that there is no buildup," said Koster.
