TheIndonesia.id - Bali is setting its sights on an ambitious goal of attracting 6.5 million international visitors in 2025, as reported by Antara News Agency. Tjok Bagus Pemayun, the Head of Bali's Tourism Office, shared the exciting target during a press briefing in Denpasar on Tuesday, revealing that domestic tourism numbers are expected to soar to 10.5 million.
With 2024 seeing approximately 6.3 million foreign tourist arrivals, the province is confident that the new goal is within reach. When accounting for tourists arriving from other parts of Indonesia, including those arriving by land or domestic flights, the total number of visitors in 2024 was estimated at 7 million.
Pemayun acknowledged that several challenges must be tackled to sustain this growth, including congestion, waste management, and land use changes. Addressing these issues will be a priority for 2025, with the provincial government stepping up enforcement efforts to ensure compliance with existing regulations.
To bolster its appeal to global travelers, Bali’s Tourism Office has unveiled an exciting lineup for the 2025 Calendar of Events, which will showcase 54 events, including 45 cultural celebrations such as the ogoh-ogoh parade in March and the Bali International Air Show in September.
Bali is not only aiming to increase visitor numbers but to also enhance the quality of the tourism experience, making this year one of the most exciting yet for travelers to the iconic Indonesian destination.
