TheIndonesia.id - Komodo International Airport in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, will begin offering direct flights to Singapore on March 20, 2025. Australian airline Jetstar Airways will operate this new route, which will run twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.

This move follows the airport’s recent success with international flights, including the Kuala Lumpur-Labuan Bajo route launched by AirAsia in 2024. The addition of the Singapore route is expected to further enhance tourism and economic opportunities for Labuan Bajo and Flores Island, opening up exciting new travel possibilities.

Komodo Airport’s upgrade to international status, as per the Ministry of Transportation’s Decree Number KM 31 of 2024, underscores the region’s growing significance as a global destination.

Ceppy Triono, Head of Komodo Airport Operations, expressed hope that this development would encourage other airlines to consider new international routes, boosting connectivity and showcasing the beauty of Flores Island to the world.

According to Antara News Agency explained that the addition of the international route is good news because it could support the development of the tourism sector in Labuan Bajo and Flores Island as a whole.

"We feel immense gratitude for the opening of the Singapore-Labuan Bajo flight, which will certainly open up even wider opportunities for tourism as well as exciting adventures on Flores Island," he added.
