TheIndonesia.id - Police rescued a boy who was found tied to a rubber tree in North Nias regency, North Sumatra.
Spokesperson for Nias Police First Inspector Yansen F Hulu said after receiving reports from locals, police immediately responded to rescue the boy.
“The child victim has been rescued by personnel from Alasa Police,” Hulu said, as reported by SuaraSumut.id.
Police also detained the person suspected of tying the young boy to a tree.
“Suspect has been arrested. Alasa Police is currently handling the case, [but] it will later be transferred to the Women and Children Unit at Nias Police,” he said again.
Hulu also confirmed that police will further provide updates on the case.
Previously, a video circulated in social media of a young boy being tied to a rubber tree in North Nias regency.
His hands and feet were tied, and they boy can be seen crying while his entire body was covered in mud.
After it went viral, locals reported it to the police.
