TheIndonesia.co - The Minister of Investment/ Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia was appointed as the ad interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
Special Staff to the Minister of Investment Tina Talisa informed this in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, February 4, 2022. She said that Bahlil's appointment was based on a letter from the Minister of State Secretary dated February 3, 2022.
"President Joko Widodo appointed the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia as the ad interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources," she said.
Bahlil Lahadalia held an inaugural meeting with all Echelon I within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) on this Friday morning. However, Tina did not explain the reason for the appointment of Bahlil as ad interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. She also confirmed that Bahlil would still hold the position of Investment Minister/Head of BKPM.

"Pak Bahlil holds concurrent positions as Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources ad interim or temporarily only for the next few days," she said.
Another source stated that the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif is currently suffering from COVID-19. Tasrif is currently self-isolating.
