The memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment plan was signed by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) with J&T Express and eWTP Arabia Capital. Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha, along with GACA head Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, and Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) chairman who is also Council on Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) member Faisal Alkhamisi were also present in the signing.
J&T Express said the signing of the projects shows their commitment to “cultivating professional talent, investing in advanced technology and equipment, and building the largest smart logistics industrial park in MENA in the next ten years”.
The logistics park will be home to world-class sorting centers, automated warehousing systems, air cargo terminals, e-commerce industrial parks and modern industrial parks as the company aims to “provide the most advanced technology-based services to its ecosystem partners”.
In January 2022, J&T Express expanded its business in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With its own distribution network and local warehousing system, the company has managed to achieve even coverage in both countries.
And since its establishment in 2015, the logistics giant has also expanded their business to Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, and China.
