TheIndonesia.co - Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Nusantara Palestine Center (NPC) regarding a scholarship support program for Palestinian students in Indonesia.
The signing was carried out by the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al-Shun and the Managing Director of the Nusantara Palestine Center (NPC) Ihsan Zainuddin at the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta, Monday, February 7, 2022.
"We thank the Nusantara Palestine Center (NPC) for the scholarship support program for Palestinian students," said Zuhair Al-Shun at the Palestinian Embassy.
He also thanked the founder of the Nusantara Palestine Center, Abdillah Onim, who had helped the Palestinian people directly. "The Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta is the door between Indonesia and Palestine. Take advantage of this situation for the common good," said Zuhair.
The Ambassador reminded that the injustice that occurred in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is a despicable act. "Palestinian independence can be achieved not only using weapons but more importantly with reason and with a pen," he said.
On the same occasion, the founder of the Nusantara Palestine Center, Abdillah Onim, said that paying attention to Palestinian students in Indonesia is one of the priorities for the NPC. "NPCs are engaged in various fields for humanity," he said.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of the Nusantara Palestine Center (NPC) Ihsan Zainuddin said education was highly prioritized in supporting the survival of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. "The scholarship support program for Palestinian students is a good start and we hope that this program will continue and bring blessings to the Indonesian and Palestinian people," he said.
For the initial stage, he continued, as many as 29 Palestinian students will receive scholarship support. The support program is in the form of pocket money to support all lecture activities for Palestinian students in Indonesia, said Ihsan. He also invited other humanitarian institutions to participate in running a scholarship support program for Palestinian students in Indonesia.
