TheIndonesia.id - The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General TNI Andika Perkasa is scheduled to visit Singapore to make a courtesy call to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister of Defense Ng Eng Hen. Andika Perkasa's visit to Singapore became one of the important agendas to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries.
The planned visit of honor was directly conveyed by Singapore's Marine Defense Attaché Senior Lieutenant Colonel (SLTC) Tony Wong when he met Andika Perkasa in Jakarta, as broadcast on the Youtube channel of General TNI Andika Perkasa, Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
Tony Wong explained in detail the activities that Andika would do during his visit to Singapore. "On the 19th morning is the schedule that we have prepared for an honorary visit (TNI Commander) to the Minister of Defense (Singapore), followed by an award ceremony," said Tony Wong in Andika's office.
After the award ceremony by Singapore's Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen, Andika is then scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. "After that, we also scheduled the TNI Commander to visit one of the (Singapore) Air Force squadrons," said Tony Wong.
At the Squadron, Andika is scheduled to see several helicopters belonging to the Singapore Air Force, including the Apache type. Andika's visit to Singapore is very important to increase military cooperation between the two countries, as well as strengthen diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Singapore, said Tony.
Andika also said that his visit to Singapore is important for the TNI and also the Indonesian government. Therefore, Andika will immediately report to President Joko Widodo to ask for permission before visiting Singapore.
"I will meet the President to ask for permission and I will explain how important this (visit) is; not only for me but more importantly for the TNI and the Indonesian government," said Andika Perkasa.
