TheIndonesia.co - President Joko Widodo estimates the National Capital City (IKN) Nusantara construction will need 15-20 years. The reason is building Nusantara is a "giant job" and is complicated.
President stated in the latest video on the Presidential Secretariat's official YouTube channel, Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The President hopes that the development process will be more visible following the inauguration of the Head of the Archipelago IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, and Deputy Head of Dhony Rahajoe, last Thursday.
According to the President, the authority will be the institution that will design a more detailed plan related to the development of Nusantara IKN, including the Detail Engineering Design (DED). Institutions already exist, later a more detailed plan, whether it's DED or others will also be prepared.
"But the most important thing is that the basic infrastructure must start immediately," said President Jokowi as quoted by Antara news agency.

Earlier on Monday, President led a procession for the integration of soil and water from 34 provinces brought by the respective governors at the Zero Point of IKN Nusantara. The President said this shows support and symbolically unites forces to start the establishment of IKN Nusantara.
"All governors were present to bring soil and water from their respective provinces and then put them together here, meaning this is a great strength of our country, Indonesia," he said.
After the procession, President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and camping at the IKN Nusantara location together with some Ministers such as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment/ Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.
