The military, police, and local governments will encourage vaccination and conduct tracing more rigorously.
A decision to this effect was made during a limited cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.
TheIndonesia.id - The Ministry of Health reported that 40,967,039 people have received the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine (booster) on Friday, May 6, 2022.
From the data received in Jakarta, 165,613,761 people have received the second dose of the vaccine. Meanwhile, the first dose of the vaccine has reached 199,346,528. The government targets the vaccination to reach 208,265,720 people.
Previously, the government set the COVID-19 vaccination as a requirement for the Eid Al-Fitr homecoming "Mudik" tradition. People who have received a booster shot do not need to show the antigen or PCR test results.
Meanwhile, those who have just received the second dose of vaccination must show a negative result on the COVID-19 antigen test, while only those receiving the first vaccination must include a negative result on the PCR test.
In order to increase the number of vaccination nationally, the government and other agencies provide vaccination booths at many homecoming posts as well as mosques and terminals/stations.
The government estimates that at least 85 million people will travel back and forth to their hometowns to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr 1433 H.
