TheIndonesia.co - The Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) is still investigating the cause of the deportation of Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) by the Singapore Immigration Office. UAS conveyed the deportation news through his social media.
"Information regarding UAS is still being explored or investigated," said Head of Public Relations of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Tubagus Erif Faturahman when contacted in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
For the time being, said Faturahman, the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is still trying to find complete information from the Singapore Immigration Office regarding the deportation. Faturahman added that Indonesia does not know the exact time of the incident or the initial information on the deportation of the alumnus of Al-Azhar University, Egypt.
"So we are still waiting and exploring the information," said Faturahman.

The Ministry of Law and Human Rights has ordered the Head of the Riau Islands Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Riau Islands Immigration Office to pay attention to the issue.
UAS stated that he was deported by Singapore. Before being deported, UAS admitted that he was placed in a room measuring 1x2 meters.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryopratomo clarified that UAS was not deported. According to Tommy, the preacher did not get a permit to enter Singapore, so he was asked to return. Tommy does not yet know the reason for Singapore's refusal for UAS to enter the Lion City.
