TheIndonesia.co - On Tuesday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo received a state visit from the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste José Manuel Ramos-Horta at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java. President Ramos-Horta arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace at around 9.54 Indonesia western time.
The President of Timor Leste's presence at the Bogor Presidential Palace is greeted with a series of official state welcoming ceremonies. His arrival at the Bogor Palace is escorted by marching band troops, cavalry, and troops wearing traditional Indonesian clothes.
President José Ramos-Horta was greeted directly by President Jokowi in the courtyard of the Bogor Presidential Palace. The welcoming procession continued with a state ceremony where the national anthems of the two countries were played and 21 cannons blasted, then the leaders of the two countries introduced their respective delegates who accompanied them.
Based on the information provided by the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, President Jokowi invited President José Ramos-Horta to the Lotus Room for a group photo session and signing of the guest book. President Jokowi and President José Ramos-Horta planted trees in the backyard of the Bogor Palace before the two had a casual conversation on the veranda behind the Bogor Presidential Palace.

Furthermore, the two leaders will hold face-to-face meetings, hold bilateral meetings, witness the signing of the memorandum of understanding, and conduct joint press statements. The procession to welcome President José Ramos-Horta will be closed with a state lunch.
President José Ramos-Horta's visit to Indonesia is the first since being sworn in as President of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste on 20 May 2022, coinciding with Timor Leste's Independence Day.
