According to BMKG, the number of earthquakes shocking Bali this year was dominated by tremors with a strength below magnitude 3.
TheIndonesia.id - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi has recently claimed that the construction of Sanur Port will be completed in September, so it can be available for use before the G20 summit.
During his visit to Denpasar, Bali, Sumadi ensured that the port will be completed timely, and the infrastructure will be ready prior to G20 summit that will take place in the province in November.
“I visit Sanur Port to make sure that from September the port can operate for G20 to take [delegates] to Nusa Penida,” he said on Wednesday, July 27, as reported by Antara.
Sumadi said President Joko Widodo had asked him to make sure necessary infrastructures in Bali are prepared to support the G20 event, including Sanur Port that will connect Denpasar to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.
“Bali is among the destinations that President has asked to oversee, so it can return as main tourist destinations. We also know that the number of air passengers to Bali has significantly increased, and it shows Bali’s extraordinary appeal,” he added.
The Minister also asked Bali governor to prepare the best team to manage Sanur Port once it operates and to provide the necessary facilities to assist visitors.
On the occasion, governor Wayan Koster said the province appreciates the development of Sanur Port because it was previously difficult for people and tourists in Bali to go to Nusa Penida island in the southeastern part of Bali.
“This is the pride of the people here as well as a nice change because people found it difficult to get to Nusa Penida. Now, it is easier, and we should wait for the construction to finish in September,” Koster said.
According to Sumadi, the construction has reached 89.71 percent completion.
