TheIndonesia.id - Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General of Police, Dedi Prasetyo, straightened out the information related to the arrest and detention of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. He clarifies that Sambo had just been placed in a special place at the Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters.
"Tonight the person in question (Ferdiy Sambo) was placed in a special place, namely the Police Mobile Brigade Headquarters," said Dedi Prasetyo at the National Police Headquarters online, Saturday night, August 6, 2022.
Dedi Prasetyo also explained that the Special Inspectorate (Irsus) of the National Police had determined that Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo had violated rules in handling the crime scene (TKP) of the death of Brigadier Joshua in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. Dedi said that Timsus is currently investigating the investigation process related to the Duren Tiga crime scene, working on a pro justicia basis.
Besides Timsus, there is also Irsus who is examining 25 police personnel related to unprofessionalism in handling the Duren Tiga crime scene. "As stated by the National Police Chief last night (Friday) that Irsus has examined 25 people. Of these 25 people, four have been placed in a special place (Pansus)," said Dedi Prasetyo.
Special placement for the four people, said Dedi Prasetyo, in the context of the evidentiary process, then an ethics trial was carried out because of the unprofessionalism of the crime scene investigation. "Based on the results of the joint investigation of the Special Inspection Supervision team on the actions of Inspector General FS who allegedly violated the procedure in handling the criminal act of the death of Brigadier J at the official house of the Head of the National Police Propam Division," said Dedi Prasetyo.
Dedi Prasetyo added, that for the Irsus examination related to the incident, 10 witnesses had been examined. "From the statements of 10 witnesses and the available evidence, the Irsus determined that Inspector General FS was suspected of committing a violation related to unprofessionalism in the crime scene," said Dedi Prasetyo.
Ferdy Sambo was placed in a special place (Patsus) at Mako Brimob Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, for 30 days. The police themselves denied that Ferdy Sambo's placement at the Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters was detention. "(Special placement) is in the context of the examination. So it is not true that there was (arrest and detention)," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said that removing surveillance cameras or CCTV by Ferdy Sambo could be punished.
"The removal of CCTV can enter the realm of ethics and can enter the realm of crime. It can be both," said Mahfud in his written statement, in Jakarta, Sunday, August 7, 2022. "So taking CCTV can violate ethics, because it is not careful or unprofessional. However, at the same time it can also be a criminal violation due to obstruction of justice and others," said Mahfud.
