TheIndonesia.id - President Prabowo Subianto received the visit of Prime Minister of Japan, Shigeru Ishiba, at the Bogor Palace, Bogor, West Java, on Saturday.

As reported by Antara, the prime minister and his entourage arrived at the palace at 10 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) after paying a visit to the Main National Heroes Cemetery in Jakarta.

Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Ishiba was welcomed by cavalry troops at the palace gate.

President Prabowo and Prime Minister Ishiba, both dressed in gray suits, then followed a welcoming ceremony, with the national anthems of Indonesia and Japan played, accompanied by cannon blasts.

The prime minister is the first foreign country leader received by Prabowo at the Bogor Palace after he was inaugurated as President of Indonesia on October 20, 2024.

At the palace, Ishiba signed the guest book, accompanied by President Prabowo.

The two leaders then held a tête-à-tête meeting at the president's office.

President Prabowo and Prime Minister Ishiba then held a bilateral meeting with delegations from the Indonesian and Japanese governments.

The Indonesian delegation comprised several ministers of the Red and White cabinet, comprising Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan P. Roeslani.

After the bilateral meeting, the president and the prime minister are scheduled to deliver a joint press conference on the results of the two leaders' meeting.

Prime Minister Ishiba visited Indonesia after concluding his visit to Malaysia. PM Ishiba and his wife Yoshiko landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, at 5 p.m. WIB on Friday (January 10).

After meeting President Prabowo at the Bogor Palace, he will return to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday afternoon, concluding his state visit to Indonesia.
