TheIndonesia.co - Indonesia’s Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin met with his Chinese counterpart, Dong Jun, in Beijing on Wednesday to discuss expanding defense cooperation, as reported by Antara News Agency.
In an official statement, Sjamsoeddin shared that the discussions focused on various areas of military collaboration between the two nations. He emphasized that the cooperation would not only involve the transfer of military technology but also strengthen direct relations between military personnel through soldier-to-soldier exchanges.
"We will continue to enhance cooperation, focusing on both technological advancements and fostering stronger connections between our armed forces," Sjamsoeddin stated.
The ministers also touched on a bilateral agreement to utilize dialogue as a means of resolving regional challenges. This approach is seen as a way to strengthen the ties between China and Indonesia, particularly in light of rising tensions caused by inter-regional conflicts.
