As reported by Antara News Agency, in his speech, President Prabowo emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties with India across various sectors. "Indonesia and India share deep civilizational connections and a rich history of collaboration," Prabowo remarked, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
He reaffirmed his dedication to accelerating strategic partnerships in critical areas, such as health, pharmaceuticals, education, maritime security, and digital technology. He also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality of the Indian government during his state visit and spoke fondly of his role as the guest of honor at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations.
“This occasion reminds me of the historic moment in 1950 when Indonesia’s first President, Soekarno, was invited as the first guest of honor at India’s Republic Day,” President Prabowo reflected.
In addition, President Prabowo lauded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in addressing poverty and improving the welfare of the Indian people.
On her part, President Murmu highlighted the enduring strength of the bilateral relations between Indonesia and India, emphasizing their shared vision as strategic partners in the Indo-Pacific region. She also acknowledged the important role played by the Indian diaspora in Indonesia, which continues to contribute to both cultural and economic exchanges.
Looking ahead, President Murmu expressed optimism for expanded cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, digital technology, and maritime security.
