TheIndonesia.id - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was awarded the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor), or The Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Johor, during his state visit to Malaysia on Monday.
According to Antara News Agency, based on an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta, the award was presented directly by Malaysia's King, the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, at the National Palace in Malaysia.
The D.K I Johor, which was established on July 31, 1886, is one of the highest honors awarded by the Johor government. This prestigious accolade is bestowed under the motto "Concord is a Blessing" to Malay rulers, close royal family members, and foreign leaders who have made significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations.
The D.K I Johor carries profound historical and symbolic significance. It includes a gold necklace inscribed with the name of Sultan Abu Bakar in Jawi script, symbolizing glory and unity. Additionally, the award features a large nine-pointed star, which represents the values of leadership and togetherness cherished by the Kingdom of Johor.
With this honor, President Prabowo joins a distinguished list of global leaders who have received the award, including Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Saadul Khairi Waddien (1960), Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzadin Waddaulah (1969), President Soeharto (1990), Pengiran Isteri Mariam (1997), Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa (2017), and Pengiran Muda Mahkota al-Muhtadee Billah (2023).
This recognition underscores the enduring diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, which continue to grow through cooperation in various strategic sectors. The honor also highlights Indonesia’s role as a key partner in maintaining regional stability and promoting collaboration across Southeast Asia.
