TheIndonesia.id - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is actively collaborating with all relevant stakeholders, including the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), to ensure the effective supervision and implementation of the mandatory B40 biodiesel programme.

“We are continuously coordinating with stakeholders to ensure that the B40 implementation and supervision are on track, delivering maximum benefits to the community,” said Eniya Listiani Dewi, the ministry's Director General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation, on Friday, according to Antara News Agency.

To meet distribution targets, she emphasized that supervision and monitoring activities will continue to be conducted optimally.

Dewi expressed confidence that the B40 programme will help reduce Indonesia’s reliance on imported fuel oil (BBM).

“This strategic measure is part of the government’s commitment to accelerating the energy transition, reducing dependence on fuel imports, and achieving clean, sustainable energy goals,” she stated.

Since its launch on January 1, 2025, the B40 programme has made notable progress in distribution. As of February 18, 2025, domestic B40 distribution has reached 1.47 million kiloliters (kl), or 9.4 percent of the total national allocation of 15.616 million kl.

Of this amount, 767,283 kl came from the Public Service Obligation (PSO) distribution, making up 10.6 percent of the total PSO allocation of 7.55 million kl, while 706,481 kl came from non-PSO distribution, which accounts for 8.8 percent of the total non-PSO allocation of 8.062 million kl.

Currently, 79 out of 88 delivery points (fuel terminals) are distributing B40. One delivery point is still upgrading its facilities to support full implementation, while the remaining eight are in the preparation stage.

To facilitate a smooth transition, the government is allowing relaxation in B35 distribution at delivery points still adjusting their infrastructure and facilities, with the deadline set for February 28, 2025.
