33 Percent of Indonesians Only Take 1 to 2 Weeks to Say "I Love You"
TheIndonesia.id - A new YouGov survey states that around 70 percent or seven out of ten respondents from Indonesia will wait less than a year before saying "I love you" to a potential partner. The highest proportion of 33 percent chose to express the word love at an earlier time between one to two weeks before finally establishing a new relationship.
Quoted from the official broadcast on Monday, the survey took online respondents of 1,055 people in Indonesia. Questions are asked about the ideal time to take the important steps in a loving relationship.
The survey also asked other questions after the stage of expressing love, ranging from the length of time waiting before meeting the spouse's family, buying a house together, getting engaged, to deciding to get married. In the survey, the majority of respondents were happy to introduce a new partner to their parents and immediate family (78 percent) or go on vacation with a partner (70 percent) about a year or less after starting a new romantic relationship.
Most in the group felt it was appropriate to pass these two relationship milestones within a week or two of dating, namely seeing each other's immediate family by 22 percent and vacationing together by as much as 20 percent.
When it comes to vacations, men are 63 percent more likely to take their partner on vacation together in the first year of a new relationship, compared to women (55 percent).
Generally, respondents in Indonesia think that couples should wait at least a year before deciding to buy a house together. As many as 25 percent of people in that group will wait at least four years after being in a relationship and 12 percent think to achieve this will have to get married first.
The survey also asked respondents when is the best time to get engaged or get married. The majority said the best time was after the couple had been together for a year. Some of them think they can get engaged (35 percent) or get married (20 percent) before reaching even one year of a relationship.
