Indonesia's 1000 Digital Startups National Movement 2022 Launched

TheIndonesia.id - The Directorate General of Information Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information (Ditjen Aptika Kemkominfo) again held the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement 2022 Program entitled "Indonesia Maju #Mulaidarikamu".

"Through the implementation of the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement Program in its 7th year, we hope to further strengthen digital competitiveness, especially in terms of building digital talents who are skilled, agile, and insightful in developing entrepreneurship as well as preparing them to enter the era of tech winter which is full of challenges," said Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate in a press release, Thursday, August 25, 2022.

This program is an effort to work hand-in-hand with the drivers of Indonesia's digital startup ecosystem, which was initiated in 2016 to contribute to innovation and at the same time present solutions through digital technology. The program, which focuses on developing digital talent, encouraging the creation of digital solutions, and building a startup ecosystem, will begin with the Ignition stage on August 27, 2022, in Jakarta.

Since the first year it was launched, the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement Program has succeeded in facilitating more than 100,000 prospective startup founders and pioneering more than 1,400 startups covering various industries. This figure is predicted to continue to increase in line with the implementation of the program in the 7th year.

The 1000 Digital Startups National Movement Program begins with the Ignition stage which is divided into three main agendas; tech conference, ecosystem networking, and Demo Day. At the Tech Conference, early founders and prospective startup founders will take part in a series of conference activities and discussion panels with various topics regarding trends as well as challenges around the startup industry and digital technology.

Meanwhile, a networking ecosystem that opens opportunities for startup actors to connect with potential stakeholders exclusively. On Demo Day, 10 early-founders were selected from the "Hatch! by 1000 Digital Startups" can present a curated business model in front of stakeholders.

In addition to the Ignition stage, the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement Program also includes four other stages; Workshop, Hacksprint, Bootcamp, and Hatch!. This series of activities will guide participants to finalize and execute ideas, build teams, and product testing to accelerate startups so that they can have a real impact and provide solutions to digital problems.

"Especially for this stage of Ignition, we are optimistic that we can spread the spirit of collaboration in the use of digital technology in all regions in Indonesia. We are targeting Ignition this year to be attended by around 400 offline participants and reach more than 20,000 online participants from all over Indonesia," said the Movement Program Coordinator. The Directorate General of Aptika Kemkominfo also collaborates with stakeholders from various sectors to participate in this program, such as Venture Capitalist, startup Decacorn, Unicorn, well-known Centaur in Indonesia, regulators, and other industry players.

All stages of the 2022 1000 Digital Startups National Movement Program will last for eight months, starting from August 2022 to March 2023. To take part in this program, prospective participants, both individuals and teams, can register through the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement application. Ignition stages can also be witnessed directly through ignition.1000startupdigital.id.
