TheIndonesia.co - On the 6th of July 1940, Kemayoran Airport served its first international flights from and to Indonesia. The runway was built in 1934 and officially opened on July 8, 1940.
The airport started operating with the DC-3 Dakota, the first aircraft landed belonging to the Dutch East Indies airline company, KNILM (Koningkelije Nederlands Indische Luchtvaart Maatschapij).
